Prabhsimran Singh cracked a magnificent 49-ball 83

In a moment of audacious brilliance during IPL 2025 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Eden Gardens, Prabhsimran Singh executed an extraordinary shot for a six off the bowling of the experienced Sunil Narine.

Following Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer's decision to bat first after winning the toss, Prabhsimran Singh initially found it challenging to accelerate his innings. While his opening partner, Priyansh Arya, took on the primary scoring role early on, Prabhsimran was comparatively subdued. By the end of the fourth over, Priyansh had amassed 28 runs off just 11 deliveries, whereas Prabhsimran had scored 13 runs at a run-a-ball rate.

The wicketkeeper-batter finally found his rhythm in the fifth over, striking Harshit Rana for a boundary and a six. He then carried this momentum into the eleventh over, where he launched a fierce attack on Sunil Narine. Despite Narine's economical start, conceding only 7 runs in his initial two overs, Prabhsimran was undeterred in his aggressive approach against the Kolkata Knight Riders veteran.

After Priyansh began the over with a six off Narine's first delivery, Prabhsimran followed suit with two consecutive sixes of his own. The first of these two maximums was particularly remarkable. Narine delivered a floated-up ball, and Prabhsimran responded with a perfectly executed switch hit, sending the ball soaring over the deep extra cover boundary for an impressive 77-metre six to leave the PBKS owner Preity Zinta in awe.

Prabhsimran Singh played a scintillating innings, scoring 83 runs off 49 deliveries, which included six boundaries and six towering sixes. On the other end, Priyansh Arya also contributed significantly with a quickfire 69 runs off just 35 balls, his innings studded with eight fours and four sixes.

However, the middle order batsmen, Glenn Maxwell and Marco Jansen, couldn't capitalise on the strong foundation, scoring only 7 and 3 runs respectively. Captain Shreyas Iyer provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 25 runs off 16 balls, while Josh Inglis chipped in with a quick 11 not out from 6 deliveries. For the Kolkata Knight Riders, Vaibhav Arora was the most successful bowler, picking up two wickets, while Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell each accounted for one dismissal.
