About Arundhati Reddy
Arundhati Reddy is another speedster welcomed to the DC squad. Playing her debut match for India in 2018 against Sri Lanka, she impressed with four wickets from five T20Is. Since then, the Hyderabad-based pacer has only moved forward with time.
Earning consistent call-ups, Arundhati has taken 18 wickets in 26 T20Is so far at a par economy of eight. She went on to represent India in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2018. While Arundhati has been out of the national team, she has picked up the slack in domestic tournaments like the Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy 2022. She picked up three wickets in her last two matches while giving away 37 runs.
Arundhati Reddy’s inspiration runs back to one of the most successful captains of the men’s team, M.S. Dhoni. The captain cool’s silverware of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2007 encourages the 25-year-old every single day. Also idolising Rahul Dravid, Arundhati has her map laid out in just one direction, which is the road to success.
