Abhishek Kumar (53 off 27) and Aryan Bhatia's (23 off 13) 76 runs unbeaten partnership helped Agri Kings Knights to register a two-wicket win against Royal Phantoms in the ongoing Sher-e-Punjab T20 Cup 2024 at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Thursday. While cashing the target of 167 runs, the Knights lost their eight wickets in just 91 runs. In the other match, Trident Stallion, captained by Prabhsimran Singh, was defeated by BLV Blasters, the team of Namandhir Singh, who played the IPL 2024 season for Mumbai Indians, by four wickets.
While batting first, Anmolpreet Singh (65 runs off 52 balls) and Ridham Satyawan's unbeaten innings (63 runs off 40 balls) helped Royal Phantoms score 166 runs for two wickets in 20 overs. Both of them shared a 74-run partnership for the second wicket.
Abhishek and Aryan turned the tables for Knights
Chasing the target of 167 runs, the Knights were unable to get a good start and by the time their score reached 91, eight batsmen went back to the pavilion. Then Abhishek and Aryan's brilliant partnership turned the tables. both batters took charge and scored runs quickly, thrashing the bowlers to all around the field. Abhishek played an unbeaten innings of 53 runs with 7 fours and 2 sixes in a 27-ball inning at a strike rate of 196, while Aryan supported him well by scoring 23 runs not out with 4 fours in 13 balls. Due to which the Knights won the match by chasing the target of 167 runs in 19 overs.
Namandhir Singh's team registered an easy win
Ramandeep Singh played an innings of 53 runs with five fours and three sixes in 26 balls which helped Trident Stallion to score 171 runs in 20 overs. While chasing the target, Namandhir Singh scored 50 runs off 23 balls including 5 fours and three sixes. After that Anmol Malhotra's unbeaten knock of 40 runs consists of five fours and a six to register a four-wicket win.
