Former India captain Virat Kohli who is part of India's 1st Test match squad against Bangladesh gives his bat to his Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) teammate ahead Bangladesh clash which is scheduled to take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from September 19. Akashdeep is also the part of Rohit Sharma-led squad that will feature against Bangladesh at Chepauk.
On Monday, Deep posted a photo on Instagram of a cricket bat gifted to him by Kohli. Both cricketers, who play together for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL, are now set to share the Team India dressing room for the upcoming Test match against Bangladesh.

Akash Deep is one of the cricketers who has received a bat from Virat Kohli. In a video released by RCB, batter Vijaykumar Vyshak shared that he requested a bat from the former India captain and went on to score a half-century with it. Additionally, Rinku Singh is another player who requested multiple bats from Kohli.
Deep made his Test debut earlier this year in Ranchi against England, where he took three wickets, including those of openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley, as well as number three batter Ollie Pope. He was also part of the India A squad for the 2024 Duleep Trophy's first round, where he claimed nine wickets across two innings, including a five-wicket haul in the second innings against India B.
Team India will play two Test matches against Bangladesh where the first Test match will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and Kanpur's Green Park Stadium will witness the second match. Bangladesh team have already arrived in India and currently practising for the two-Test match series against the Men in Blue. Bangladesh will be confident as they are coming after registering their historic Test series win against Pakistan.
