The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is carefully managing the rapid rise of 15-year-old batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The governing body is closely prioritising the teenage sensation’s long-term development over short-term gains.
During a review meeting held at the board’s headquarters recently, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said the organisation is closely monitoring the teenager’s progress. Officials are determined to avoid maximising his immediate impact in a way that could risk burning him out, instead focusing on every aspect of his career to help him build a sustained and successful international future.

The board is backing the star player and wants him to follow the path of legends. Saikia, as per a report by the Times of India, said:
“We want Vaibhav Sooryavanshi or any player of his stature to continue and serve like Sachin Tendulkar did for the country.”
Saikia added:
“He’s monitored from every angle and every step he is taking forward in his international career.”
As Sooryavanshi’s future was discussed in the meeting, Saikia stated that they look at the player “in a very serious manner.” He added:
“He's monitored from every angle and every step he is taking forward in his international career.”
Sooryavanshi is monitored by BCCI as they look closely at his future. They want to protect the player instead of rushing him for immediate results. The board also stated, as per the aforementioned report, that they are “very cautious” with Sooryavanshi as they dont want him to be “a one-series or one-year wonder.”
Sooryavanshi, from Bihar, has already made history as India’s youngest senior international player and impressed with record-breaking performances in the IPL and domestic cricket. The board’s cautious approach reflects its desire to nurture him into a lasting star rather than a fleeting sensation.
