England Women have officially announced a their 15-player squad for their highly anticipated yet historic Test match against India Women at Lord’s this July. It will be England women's first-ever Test match at the iconic Lord's. The landmark fixture will see star all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt make history as the first Englishwoman to captain her country in a Test match at the iconic venue. The milestone follows hot on the heels of the ground's celebrations earlier this month, when it hosted its 150th men's Test match.
England's squad for historic Lord's Test against India announced
The squad strikes a fascinating balance between seasoned veterans and fresh talent. Standing alongside Sciver-Brunt is former captain Heather Knight, who brings a wealth of knowledge as she prepares to feature in her 15th Test match. In stark contrast, the selection looks firmly to the future with the inclusion of Surrey duo Alice Capsey and Tilly Corteen-Coleman, alongside Durham’s Mady Villiers, all of whom are vying to earn their first Test caps.
The injection of new blood runs even deeper with the inclusion of Lancashire pair Grace Potts and Ellie Threlkeld, both of whom are chasing their maiden international appearances for England across any format. They are part of a major squad overhaul, representing five of the seven players selected who did not feature in England’s previous Test match against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in January 2025. Rounding out those seven changes and making their returns to the Test setup are Emma Lamb and Issy Wong.
