The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have already announced India's squad for the first Test match against Bangladesh which will be played from September 19 to 23 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. India star batter Virat Kohli who missed the last red-ball series against England has made his comeback in the squad against Bangladesh. Apart from Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah has also made his comeback in the squad after India's T20 World Cup 2024 triumph in Barbados.
Kohli who is currently spending time with his family in London last played a Test match was against South Africa in at Capetown in January. He featured in 113 Test matches for India where he scored 8848 runs with a highest score of 254 not out.

Don Bradman's century record
Indian cricketing legend Virat Kohli has smashed 29 Test centuries which is equal to the legendary Don Bradman's record. If he scores another century in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh then he will surpass Bradman's record and join Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Matthew Hayden, both of whom have 30 Test centuries to their names.

9000 Test runs
Virat Kohli just needs 152 runs from reaching 9,000 runs in the longest format of the game. Considering his current form the batting great will achieve this milestone in the upcoming India vs Bangladesh Test series. If Kohli reaches this mark, he will also surpass former England cricketer Graham Gooch's total of 8,900 Test runs.
Maiden fifty against Bangladesh
Interestingly Virat Kohli has never scored a fifty against Bangladesh in his nine Test outings against the neighbouring nation. Kohli has 30 half-centuries in the longest format of the game so far.
Virat Kohli to surpass Cheteshwar Pujara's Test record against Bangladesh
Virat Kohli just needs 32 runs to surpass Cheteshwar Pujara in the list of Indian batters with the most runs in India vs Bangladesh Tests. If he scores these runs in the India vs Bangladesh Test series, he will exceed Pujara's total of 468 runs against Bangladesh.
