KL Rahul has finally settled the speculation around his future and his IPL move. The Indian batter’s future with Delhi Capitals has been firmly shut down after he and the franchise publicly reaffirmed their commitment ahead of IPL 2027.
Trade rumours had intensified in recent weeks, fuelled by social media and Rishabh Pant’s return to DC following a deal that saw Kuldeep Yadav move to Lucknow Super Giants and chatter linking Rahul with a possible switch, including interest from Kolkata Knight Riders.

Some reports also suggested dressing-room friction and questions over how both wicketkeeper-batters would fit into the same side. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has put the speculation to rest with a clear message on X (formerly Twitter):
“KL IS KLUTCH FOR @DelhiCapitals - one of the nicest guys I know and one who puts the team before himself always.”
Jindal’s post further read:
“We have unfinished business and will work hard together to make Delhi proud @IPL.”
KL Rahul also replied to the post by writing:
“Thank you, can't wait for the coming season.”
The franchise had earlier shared a video montage of the batter with the caption “Keep the noise coming,” signalling their stance. Rahul has been a key performer for Delhi since joining in the 2025 mega auction. In IPL 2026, he scored 593 runs, finishing among the tournament’s leading run-getters and producing a memorable unbeaten 152 against Punjab Kings.
The Capitals, still searching for their first IPL title, view him as central to their plans. With the public exchange between Jindal and Rahul, it appears the 34-year-old will remain a Delhi Capitals player for the 2027 season. For now, the message has been made clear that KL Rahul remains a part of the team.
