Pakistan’s cricket crisis takes a new turn with the team set for major changes. Star players Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have been sent home immediately, as per reports from Pakistan. It comes after their massive 194-run defeat during the second Test against England at Lord’s.
While the bowlers did their job, the batters struggled throughout the series as they have not managed to cross 200 in four innings. Earlier, it was reported that the team is adding Mike Hesson to the Test squad following their recent struggles.

The reports further stated that as many as six domestic performers have been brought into the squad for the final Test of the series. ARY News has reported that Rizwan and Imam are expected to be sent back home. While Rizwan has struggled with his batting, Imam’s situation is different as he raised fitness concerns that emerged at Lord’s. He was replaced by Salman Agha because he could not return on opening day.
Youngsters Saim Ayub and Arafat Minhas are among those called up as Pakistan look to refresh the batting line-up, reportedly, after another batting collapse. The decision reflects the PCB’s urgency to reverse the side’s poor form in the ongoing World Test Championship cycle. Hesson’s expanded role could potentially lead to him coaching across all formats in the longer term.
