Mohammad Rizwan has written to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), calling on it to return his mobile phone. In addition to this, he has also asked for written details of the investigation against him. The Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter wants his phone without any delay as it was taken from him on August 31 in England. It was after Pakistan’s loss at Lord’s.
In the letter, Rizwan noted that the agency has not contacted him to show compliance with a Lahore High Court order. The court had dismissed his earlier petition challenging the NCCIA’s jurisdiction but instructed the agency to avoid harassment and allowed him to seek recovery of items such as his phone.

Rizwan said the phone was taken from him on 31 August in England, the day after Pakistan’s defeat at Lord’s, after he voluntarily provided access and the password despite having no legal obligation to do so. He was told it would be returned within three hours, yet nearly four weeks later it remains with the agency, as per a report in ESPN. He has asked the NCCIA to identify in writing the specific incident under inquiry and to inform him when he is required to appear.
The Pakistani player maintained that his actions demonstrated cooperation and requested the agency to respond in kind by returning the device and explaining the nature of the probe. The letter also stated, as per the aforementioned source, that the agency has not made any contact with him regarding appropriate compliance with the court's instructions.
As per the letter, Rizwan has claimed that the agency has not contacted the player regarding his phone. He also expects it to be kind and explains the nature of the investigation. The investigation involves Rizwan and teammate Imam-ul-Haq and forms part of the fallout from Pakistan’s poor Test series in England, during which several players were sent home.
