Paras Dogra-led Jammu & Kashmir scripted history at Arun Jaitley Stadium with their first ever Ranji Trophy win over Delhi. Qamran Iqbal's unbeaten 133 ensured Jammu & Kashmir chased down the target of 179 with seven wickets in hand on final day of the clash.

After an overnight score of 55/2, Iqbal did the heavy lifting on Day 4. Vanshaj Sharma held on to the other end, scoring just eight runs from 60 balls. He lost his wicket in the 38th over of the innings. Opener Iqbal continued to find boundaries and guided Jammu & Kashmir to a historic win. His knock of 133 from 147 deliveries featured 20 fours and three sixes. On the other end, skipper Dogra remained unbeaten for 10.

What happened from Day 1 to Day 3?

On November 8, Dogra won the toss and opted to bowl first. Auqib Nabi claimed a fifer as Delhi were bowled out for 211 in 69 overs despite half-centuries from captain Ayush Badoni, Ayush Doseja and Sumit Mathur.

In reply, the visitors lost four wickets for just 46 runs. But, the partnership with Dogra and Abdul Samad helped them recover. Samad scored 85 whereas Dogra went on to score a century. Simarjeet Singh starred with a six-wicket haul as Jammu & Kashmir were bowled out for 310 in 91.2 overs. 

Delhi's multiple batters got starts but could not conver them into big scores. Badoni and Doseja scored half-centuries again but Delhi suffered a collapse. From 244/3, they were bowled out for 277 with Vanshaj registering a six-wicket haul.

Nabi was named ‘Player of the match’ for triggering a collapse in the first innings.

J&K rise to 2nd spot in Group D

This is Jammu & Kashmir's second win from four games. They have 14 points to their name and have occupied second spot in Group D, only behind Mumbai who are yet to lose a match.  Meanwhile, Delhi are in sixth position, yet to win a match. After three draws, this is their first defeat of the season.

Jammu & Kashmir's next clash is against Hyderabad in home conditions, starting on November 16. It will be the last fixture before the break for Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy 2025-26.
