India's wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran Singh's 76-run knock in vain as Under-19 World Cup 2026-winning member Vihaan Malhotra scored a century in the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League 2026 clash on August 31. Fazilka Falcons registered a comprehensive eight-wicket win with 14 balls to spare at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, in the run chase of 188 against Jalandhar Warriors.
Malhotra was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) side that won the second consecutive Indian Premier League (IPL) title. He was roped in for his base price of Rs 30 lakh in the mini-auction but did not get to make his IPL debut.

Warriors collapse after Prabhsimran’s knock
In their opening match of the season, Fazilka Falcons skipper Sanvir Singh won the toss and opted to bowl first. Navpreet Singh struck twice with the new ball while Prabhsimran used the powerplay overs to score boundaries. The skipper hit Navpreet for two sixes and two fours to reach his half-century from just 21 deliveries in the sixth over.

But, Prabhsimran lacked support from the other end. Anmol Malhotra got a start but couldn't covert them into a big score. In the 13th over, Prabhsimran lost his wicket to Kirandeep Singh. He hit four sixes and eight fours in his 42-ball 76. After Prabhsimran's wicket, Jalandhar Warriors failed to capitalise. They ended up getting bowled out for 187 with two balls left in the innings. Sukhdeep Bajwa made a crucial contribution with a 12-ball 23 cameo before he was run out.
Malhotra slams ton in run chase
In the run chase, Bajwa dismissed Jaiveer Bhinder for a five-ball duck in the first over. Malhotra made a statement by hitting Paras Jaidka for two sixes and a four in the second over. Malhotra and Anshul Chaudhary wreaked havoc in the powerplay overs. Falcons were 84/1 after six overs. Malhotra completed his half-century from just 17 balls in the seventh over.
The second-wicket partnership was broken by Emanjot Singh Chahal with the wicket of Chaudhary. He scored 36 runs from 20 balls in the 101-run partnership. Skipper Sanvir Singh played second fiddle to Malhotra. In the 18th over, Sanvir reached his fifty from 28 deliveries with a six. He took a single off the next ball and Malhotra smashed Aryan Yadav for a six to reach his century from 52 deliveries. He remained unbeaten for 10 fours and five sixes as Falcons registered a big win.
