Explosive South Africa batter Dewald Brevis continued from where he left in the second T20I and played a fiery knock of 53 runs against Australia in the third and final match of the series. The 22-year-old had played a fantastic inning of 125 runs in the previous game and unleashed some brilliant shots in the third match as well.
Brevis took the crease following the wicket of Lhuan-dre Pretorious and began his domination against the opposing bowling attack right away. He launched into Aaron Hardie in the 10th over and smashed three no-look sixes in a row, leaving the commentators in awe.
Brevis hit consecutive sixes on the third, fourth and fifth delivery of Hardie's over. He would eventually be dismissed in the 12th over by Nathan Ellis, but he had already completed his objective of causing carnage. South Africa would eventually post a total of 172/7 on the baord after their 20 overs. The video of Brevis hitting Hardie for a hat-trick of no-look sixes made rounds on social media.
The 22-year-old has been nothing short of a nightmare for the Aussies in the T20I series and has hit some absolutely terrific shots. In his knock of 53, the batter hit one boundary and six towering sixes.
Australia won the match by 2 wickets
Meanwhile, Australia eventually went on to win the match and the series in stunning fashion. Glenn Maxwell played a match-winning knock of 62 runs from just 36 deliveries to carry his side to a thrilling two-wicket win with only a delivery left to spare. With the Baggy Greens requiring 10 runs in the final over, the batter first took a double before hitting Lungi Ngidi for a boundary on the second and fifth delivery of the final over. Maxwell took home the Player of the Match award for his heroic inning.
This victory saw Australia triumph in the series by 2-1 as they now head towards a three-match ODI series against the Proteas which will begin from August 19.
