India is having another action-packed stint at the Commonwealth Games 2026 with its medal tally continuing to grow across multiple disciplines. Historic performances in judo, weightlifting, athletics and para athletics helped the Indian contingent remain among the top nations in the overall standings.
With several medal events still to come, India will look to climb further up the table in the coming days.

India sits 10th in Commonwealth Games 2026 medal table
At the end of the latest day's action, India occupied the 10th position in the Commonwealth Games 2026 medal standings with a total of 23 medals, comprising 5 gold, 12 silver and 6 bronze.
Australia continued to dominate the table with 128 medals (55 gold, 30 silver and 43 bronze), while England remained second with 80 medals (17 gold, 34 silver and 29 bronze). Canada completed the top three after collecting 53 medals, including 17 golds.

Indian athletes shine across multiple sports
India's latest medal surge featured several memorable performances across athletics, weightlifting, para sports and judo. In athletics, Tejaswin Shankar created history by winning bronze in the men's decathlon with 7,976 points, becoming the first Indian to claim a Commonwealth Games medal in the event.
Murali Sreeshankar secured silver in the men's long jump with a best leap of 8.09m, while Gulveer Singh added another silver in the men's 10,000m race. In para athletics, Muhammad Basil Minga claimed silver in the D47 100m event after clocking 10.83 seconds.
India also enjoyed another successful outing in weightlifting. Mirabai Chanu completed a remarkable hat-trick of Commonwealth Games titles by winning gold in the women's event, while Rishikanta Singh claimed silver in the men's 60kg category after setting a new Games record in the snatch. Jhandu Kumar added a bronze in para powerlifting.

Judo proved to be another historic discipline for India. Asmita Dey and Harsh Singh both won gold medals, becoming among India's first-ever Commonwealth Games judo champions. Yamini Mourya further strengthened India's campaign by taking silver after an impressive run to the final.
With more medal events scheduled over the coming days, India will aim to build on its tally and push higher up the Commonwealth Games 2026 medal standings.
