Declan Rice has revealed that football legend David Beckham personally messaged him with high praise following his stunning free-kick goal against Real Madrid last season. The Arsenal midfielder described Beckham's words as "crazy," as he highlighted the special nature of receiving validation from one of the game's greatest set-piece specialists.

The interaction came after Rice's memorable strike in a high-profile Champions League match against the European giants, and the Real Madrid icon was impressed by Rice as he beat Thibaut Courtois twice from range. As per a report in The Sun, Rice told:
“He [Beckham] messaged me on Instagram about it.”
The Arsenal star continued:
"That was crazy, because he had some of the biggest moments ever with free-kicks.”
Rice then went on to reveal how he felt when meeting Beckham for the first time in Qatar. He said:
“Every player was like, he was a god, you know, because it's Becks.”
Although the player revealed that the former Manchester United player had texted him, he did not reveal what exactly he received in the texts from the football legend. Meanwhile, the Gunners str helped his side beat the 15-time UCL champions 5-1 aggregate after securing a 2-1 victory over Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side fell to the eventual winner, Paris Saint-Germain, in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Arsenal are five points clear at the English Premier League table while Pep Guardiola's Manchester City closely follows the table toppers.
