Karim Benzema is injured, and Al Hilal has released a statement on his return timeline. The Saudi League striker had just begun his journey with the new side and will not be available for a significant period. 

Is Benzema’s injury serious? Al Hilal announces injury timeline 

Benzema will be sidelined for 10 to 15 days, according to the statement by the club, as he suffers from a groin injury. The Saudi side released the statement, which read: 

“Karim Benzema will be out for a period ranging from 10 to 15 days due to a groin injury.”

The Real Madrid legend underwent thorough medical examinations before it was revealed that he would need more than a week to recover from the injury. As a result, the 38-year-old has been ruled out of his side’s clash against Al-Shabab on Matchday 24 of the Saudi Pro League.  

In addition to this, Benzema will also not be available for the first leg of the AFC Asian Champions League Elite Round of 16 against Al-Sadd. The French international will also be sidelined for the match against Al-Najma on Matchday 25. 

Ahead of the injury, the former Los Blancos player had a stunning debut to the club, netting an outstanding hat-trick along with an assist against Al-Okhdood. The former Al-Ittihad star left the side during the winter transfer window to join Al Hilal.
