Florentino Perez is carefully looking for a perfect president to succeed him

Rafael Nadal’s love for Real Madrid is well-known to the world. The former tennis player is given VIP treatment every time he visits the Santiago Bernabeu, seated next to president Florentino Perez.

The 22-time Grand Champion announced his retirement following a legendary tennis career, including a staggering 1,080 victories and 92 titles, an Olympic gold medal, and four Davis Cup trophies.  On the other hand, Perez won't remain the president of the Los Blancos forever, and this raises the question of who will succeed him.

Nadal’s retirement immediately sparked discussions about his potential candidacy for the presidency of the club. Nadal has been asked about this several times in the past; however, his recent answer has everyone wondering if he will be the next one to lead the Spanish giants. Especially when Perez has already started to find his successor.

Nadal, who has supported Real Madrid since his childhood, would not mind becoming the president of the club once he is ready. When asked about the possibility in the future, as quoted by MARCA, the former World No. 1 said:

“You never know. Conceptually, it’s something that would be wonderful. But what does that mean?”

Nadal admitted that the 15-time Champions League winners have the best president right now. Speaking on whether he would like to succeed him in the future, the 22-time Grand Slam champion said:

“Well, if I were to consider it, I would have to do so when I’m ready. In part, I would like to be in a position where I could consider it, but I don’t know.”

Nadal, in the aforementioned interview, had stated that he is a huge admirer of Real Madrid and if life puts him in the position and “all the conditions are met,” he would definitely choose to become the president.
