Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has insisted there is no update on midfielder Rodri’s future after being asked about the ongoing transfer speculation. The reply was epic, and it has been making rounds on the internet.

Speaking on Sunday ahead of the Community Shield against Arsenal, Maresca was direct when questioned about any developments involving the Spain international. Maresca said:
“No, absolutely. No news.”
The comments come as Barcelona continue to push for the 30-year-old, who has just one year left on his contract at the Etihad. The Catalan club have submitted multiple bids this summer, with their latest offer reported to be closer to a €70 million package. City are understood to be holding out for a higher fee in the region of €80 million.
On Friday, after Rodri returned to the club following Spain’s World Cup triumph and minor back surgery, Maresca had left the door open. He said:
“The transfer window is open… we can buy players, we can sell, anything can happen.”
Rodri, who was named player of the tournament as Spain lifted the World Cup, did not travel with the City squad for the Community Shield at Wembley. Negotiations between the two clubs remain ongoing as the transfer window continues. Maresca’s side face Arsenal in the traditional season curtain-raiser, with the Premier League campaign set to begin next week.
