It was a very emotional day for Antoine Griezmann as he played his last game for Atletico Madrid. The French forward admitted he was "young and made a mistake," failing to fully appreciate the love and support he had received at the club. Griezmann assisted a goal in what was likely his last appearance at the Metropolitano before joining MLS side Orlando City.

In his farewell address, Griezmann stated that the affection from fans outweighed any missed trophies, including La Liga or Champions League titles. After a disappointing spell at Barcelona, he returned to Atlético Madrid in 2021 and rebuilt his connection with the club and its supporters.

The 35-year-old expressed deep gratitude, stating the fans' loyalty meant more to him than silverware. Griezmann originally joined Atlético in 2014 and became a club legend, helping secure major honors before his high-profile exit. His return saw him regain form and contribute significantly, cementing his place in the hearts of Atlético's faithful. His move to Orlando City marks the next chapter in a career defined by passion, redemption, and an enduring bond with one of Spain's biggest clubs.
