Barcelona midfielder Pablo Gavi has fulfilled a pre-tournament promise by dyeing his hair bright pink following Spain’s victory at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 to win their second World Cup title, all thanks to a goal from FC Barcelona star Ferran Torres. Meanwhile, days after the celebration of the title, Gavi has updated his fans, fulfilling the promise he made.

The 22-year-old posted photos of his new look on Instagram with the caption “A man of his word.” He had publicly vowed on Spanish radio before the tournament that he would colour his hair pink if La Roja lifted the trophy.
Spain sealed the title with a 1-0 win over Argentina in the final in July. Gavi’s bold hairstyle change, revealed around his birthday, quickly circulated widely on all the social media platforms.
The midfielder joins several teammates who completed light-hearted challenges after the success, including defender Marc Cucurella, who got a tattoo of coach Luis de la Fuente. Gavi, who featured sparingly during the competition as he continued his recovery from injury, is due to return to Barcelona for pre-season training shortly.
