NFL: New York Jets Owner Woody Johnson backs Donald Trump against Kamala Harris in US presidential elections

National Football League (NFL) team owner of the New York Jets Woody Johnson backed the former American president Donald Trump against Vice President Kamala Harris in the debate performance for becoming the next US president in 2025. Woody appeared on Fox talking about his team's chances and preparations for the upcoming season. In the same conversation, he was talking about how Donald Trump would do well in the upcoming elections making a comeback. 

 

Woody Johnson's relationship with Trump

Woody shares a professional bond with Trump as he was named US Ambassador to the UK in Trump's previous administration. Woods without mincing his words was comfortable supporting Trump publically against Kamala. 

 

"I think Trump is going to do really very well in the debates and other things are gonna happen too that really help the former President become elected," said Woody.

 

Jets support Trump

Donald despite being a resident of New York has never won the state in both Presidential elections. The Jets too have never sent electoral collage to Trump in their home games but within the team, pro-Trump supporters can be seen. Sauce Gardener their defense star has openly endorsed Trump after the assassination attempt on him. Team's icon Aaron Rogers has also been supporting Trump. According to the New York Post, the New York Jets signed an extension worth $30.75 million, with just over $19 million guaranteed. The deal makes Michael Carter II the highest-paid slot corner in the league and reiterates something fans have known to be true for a while.

US Presidential elections

The 2024 election will be on Tuesday, 5 November 2024. The winner will serve a term of four years in the White House, starting in January 2025. The two main political parties select their presidential candidates through a series of state primaries where voters decide who should represent their party in the general election. In the Republican Party, former President Donald Trump secured the nomination with a substantial lead over his competitors and was officially confirmed as the nominee at the party convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On the Democratic side, Vice President Kamala Harris became the official nominee in August at her party's convention in Chicago, succeeding President Joe Biden after he withdrew from the race.
