The Miami Dolphins' matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the season opener is less than two hours away, and Tyreek Hill has found himself in a strange legal situation. The Dolphins wide receiver was detained on Sunday in front of Hard Rock Stadium in Florida for a traffic infraction.
Why was Tyreek Hill arrested?
NFL insider Adam Schefter claims that Tyreek Hill was detained by police while driving to the stadium in a black Lamborghini. He reportedly had DL Calais Campbell with him. Drew Rosenhaus, Hill's agent, claims that the wide receiver was detained for a traffic infraction. Hill, on the other hand, has now been released. Thus, he will play in the game against the Pumas. Including additional details regarding Hill's position.
"I just left Tyreek and he is getting ready to play today," Rosenhaus told Schefter.
"This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police," the team said in a statement. “He has since been released. Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”
Hill can be seen sitting on the road while officials tie his hands in the media clips that are going around on social media platform X. Calais Campbell was also in Hill's vehicle, according to witnesses. However, there has been no confirmation regarding the arrest of the defensive tackle. Hill, according to Jeff Darlington, got into a verbal fight with the police after he was stopped, which led to them putting him in handcuffs. After the situation calmed down, Hill was issued a citation and released.
