Maye credits defence in post-game interview

“I feel like, all I’ve got is 11 routes at a time, but I know 15, 20 plays,” Maye continued. “It’s a good feeling sitting over there. You know, offence, as a quarterback, that type of defensive performance … credit them. Credit them in practice this week.”
Maye also reflected on how the Patriots’ defence reminded him of the intensity and challenges he faced in training camp. “It’s pretty cool to watch and it’s good to be on the other side of the ball,” he concluded, acknowledging the defence's role in the team’s success.
Jerod Mayo praises Caleb Williams' potential
Ahead of the game, much of the attention was on the matchup between two top quarterback prospects Maye and Chicago's Caleb Williams. Williams, who has been widely regarded as a future star in the NFL, faced off against Maye in a contest that showcased the promise of both young quarterbacks.
Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo, aware of Williams' potential, offered his take on the young QB's future. “I still believe Caleb Williams will be a very good player in this league,” Mayo said after the game. “But, just like any rookie, he’s going to go through his ups and downs. It doesn’t matter what position you play. He’ll be a special player. He’s got to stick to it.”
