Joe Schoen retains his role despite New York finishing 4–13 and firing head coach Brian Daboll.

Giants ownership stressed continuity and belief in a young core amid long-term struggles.

John Mara opened up on New York's flop season on Monday. The Giants co-owner gave his while making a personnel decision that will decide the franchise's future.

Big decision on New York Giants' future

Mara and co-owner Steve Tisch are the team's top level decision-makers. They declared that New York general Joe Schoen will keep his job despite having just four wins this season (4-13).

The owners issued their statement after meeting with Schoen. One year is left on the GM's contract as he gears up to hire his second coach after Brian Daboll's firing in November.

"The 2025 season has been deeply disappointing, and the results on the field have not lived up to the standard this organization and our fans expect," Mara and Tisch wrote in the joint statement.

"As previously stated, Joe Schoen will remain our General Manager and continue to lead our football operations and the search for our next head coach. Continuity and stability in the front office is important to our progress. We believe in our young core of talent, which we can build around for future success."

Disappointing feat for New York Giants

New York has secured just 26 wins over the past five seasons. Schoen dropped a 22-45 since taking over the job in 20222, including a playoff win the same year before three straight campaigns.
