Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James couldn’t hide his pride for fellow Ohio native Travis Kelce, who delivered a standout performance for the Kansas City Chiefs in their playoff victory over the Houston Texans on Saturday.

Travis Kelce was instrumental in the Chiefs' 2314 win, recording seven receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown. The tight end’s remarkable performance not only secured the victory but also etched his name in NFL history.

Kelce became the first player to achieve at least 100 receptions in seven consecutive seasons, including the playoffs. Additionally, he surpassed San Francisco 49ers legend Jerry Rice for the most 100yard postseason games, setting a new record with nine.

 LeBron James Praises Kelce’s Achievement

After learning about Kelce’s historic feat, LeBron James took to social media to congratulate him.

"Congrats brother!! NFL record for most 100 rec yard games (9)," James wrote, adding several fire emojis and a salute emoji to his message.

 A Redemption Season for Kelce

Kelce’s stellar playoff performance came after a challenging regular season in 2024, where he recorded career lows with 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Despite the struggles, the Chiefs’ star rose to the occasion when it mattered most, proving his value to the team.

Many fans even speculated that Taylor Swift’s presence at the game may have motivated Kelce, as statistics suggest he performs better when his girlfriend is in attendance.

The game will mark the fourth postseason meeting between Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. While Mahomes boasts a 30 playoff record against Allen, the Bills defeated the Chiefs earlier this season, securing a 3021 victory in Week 11.
