Story Highlights:

Toronto Blue Jays announces a special game-night promotion tied to a historic franchise milestone.

The promotion coincides with a high-profile rematch against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Rogers Centre.

Toronto Blue Jays have delivered a fan-friendly announcement ahead of one of the most anticipated matchups of the season.

To mark the franchise’s historic beginnings, the team has revealed a 77-cent hot dog night scheduled for April 7 at Rogers Centre, coinciding with Toronto’s showdown against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The date holds special significance, as April 7 marks the anniversary of the first-ever Blue Jays game in 1977.

Fittingly, the promotion ties nostalgia with a marquee matchup, as the Dodgers return to Toronto for a rematch of the 2025 World Series, adding even more intrigue to the night.

What fans can expect on April 7

As part of the celebration, hot dogs will be available for just $0.77, offering one of the most affordable game-day food deals the Rogers Centre has ever hosted.

In addition, the first 15,000 fans through the gates will receive a commemorative ticket honoring the franchise’s inaugural game.

Despite the budget-friendly food promotion, demand for the matchup remains strong. Tickets for the game are currently listed at $88 on Ticketmaster for seats in the 500 level, a price that still represents strong value given the magnitude of the opponent and the recent World Series history between the two clubs.

Toronto Blue Jays reporter Keegan Matheson highlighted the uniqueness of the announcement on social media, writing:

“The #BlueJays will honour the first game in franchise history with a $0.77 Hot Dog Night on April 7th.

I didn’t expect to write that sentence when I woke up this morning, but such is the gift of life.”

Loonie Dogs nights schedule for the 2026 season

The April 7 game is also part of Toronto’s popular Loonie Dogs Nights, which return throughout the season. The Blue Jays have scheduled 12 Loonie Dogs Nights at Rogers Centre, giving fans multiple chances to enjoy discounted concessions alongside competitive matchups.

Key dates include games against division rivals such as the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays, as well as interleague contests against teams like the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros.

With history, affordability, and a blockbuster opponent all converging, April 7 is shaping up to be one of the most memorable nights of Toronto Blue Jays’ season.
