New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge feels Shohei Ohtani is the best player in baseball

The designated hitter for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani has proved why he is one of the most unique and dynamic players in the history of Major League Baseball (MLB). Despite having an elbow surgery late last season that kept Ohtani off the mound, the 30-year-old has been a force to reckon with all year long.

What did Aaron Judge have to say about rival Shohei Ohtani?

It's not just the fans and experts who think that Ohtani is the best player in baseball but New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge also thinks the same. Having built a strong case for being named the top player in baseball, Judge believes the award should go to Ohtani.

"He hits for average, hits for power, his speed. Doing what he did this year with the 50 stolen bases, it got talked about a lot but I don't think it got talked about enough," Judge said.

There is no denying the fact that Ohtani kicked off in his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers. On top of it, he became the first player to record a 50-50 season. He finished the regular season with 54 home runs and 59 stolen bases, respectively.

On the other hand, Aaron Judge has always remained humble throughout his MLB career, despite being the greatest power-hitter of the modern era. Despite Ohtani and Judge's name being linked to the conversation of who is the best player in the world, the duo will fight it out for their first World Series title.

The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers will lock horns for the first time in the World Series since 1981.

Ohtani and Judge are favourites to win MVP awards in their respective leagues

For the first time in both the player's career, Ohtani and Judge have the chance to win the NL and AL MVP awards at the same time. Before his move to the Dodgers, Ohtani and Judge used to battle it out for the American League MVP crown.

In the past three seasons in the American League, either Ohtani or Judge has been awarded with the MVP crown.
