The Dallas Mavericks are struggling in the ongoing NBA 2025-26 season. Jason Kidd’s side is 14th in the Western Conference with a 3-9 record this regular season. They recently lost to the Phoenix Suns with a score of 123-114. Their general manager, Nico Harrison, was also fired recently amid the performance concerns and the blockbuster Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade, which surprised the basketball world in February.
‘Done with it…’: Former NBA star predicts Mavericks’ star Anthony Davis’ trade
While Doncic, who powered his former team to the NBA Finals, is carrying the Lakers well in the absence of big man LeBron James, the Mavs continue their concerning form as Davis is not 100% fit. The player was out for the seventh consecutive game, and his fitness remains in question. Meanwhile, after the firing of GM Harrison, the future of the former Lakers star has come into light, and John Wall, his fellow Kentucky alum, has predicted it will last soon. The former player has also predicted where the NBA Championship winner will land.
During his appearance on Run It Back, Wall, the former NBA star, said:
"I wish he was healthy so they could try to see what they have and wait till Kyrie [Irving] comes back. But I think at this point, AD is probably done with it.”
Wall, the former Houston Rockets player, continued:
"I don't want to speak for him, but he probably wants to move forward. You can't believe everything you hear on the news, but you been hearing he wants to go back to Chicago and see what's going on."
It has been reported that Davis is suffering from a potentially catastrophic injury if the calf strain is not completely healed. Ever since he arrived in Dallas, the 32-year-old has appeared in only 14 games. During the time of the trade, he was recovering from an abdominal injury.
