Stephen Curry is set to be ineligible for any of the end-of-season awards. Curry has been dealing with injuries this season. He's been sidelined with a right knee issue, specifically diagnosed as patellofemoral pain syndrome (commonly known as "runner's knee"), along with some bone bruising.
The injury has caused persistent pain and swelling, even though recent MRIs have come back clean with no structural damage. To make it worse, the Warriors star might have to end the season empty-handed, and here is the reason behind this.
Why is Warriors star Steph Curry ineligible for end-of-season awards?
Curry's ineligibility for NBA end-of-season awards, stemming from the league's 65-game participation rule after his knee injury, extends his absence beyond the threshold since 30 January.
The player has already missed his last several games (at least 5 straight before the All-Star break, and more earlier in the season). Reports indicate he's missed around 17 games total this season due to this and related absences.
The Warriors have ruled him out for at least the next 5 games (through early March), with a re-evaluation scheduled in 10 days. He's been out since late January. Curry also sat out the 2026 NBA All-Star Game to allow more recovery time.
