Lakers team and coach react to LeBron James’ “Second Decision” which spread retirement rumors online
When asked about the situation during a media appearance, Lakers coach Redick took a frenzy jab at the fans who predicted LeBron James’ retirement. He said:
“You guys are idiots.”
The 41-year-old further added that everyone knew that it was an advertisement and “nobody was freaking out.”
Meanwhile, the 17-time NBA Champions’ forward Rui Hachimura and guard Austin Reaves also had something to say about this whole situation. The Japanese basketball player said:
“He loves to do that type of stuff.”
While the 27-year-old power forward is aware of LeBron’s tactics, Reaves, on the other hand, said:
“I got a couple calls, like, ‘What is this?’”
James is currently recovering and has not played in the ongoing pre-season where the Lakers are down 2-0. The 40-year-old is focused on the upcoming season as the team doesn't want to take any chances while the regular season remains a priority. The player will be entering his 23rd NBA season in 2025-26, which will be the longest ever by a player in the history of the league.
