Bucks have identified Jazz's star as the replacement for Brook Lopez.

With an ageing roster and all the core players well into their 30s, the Milwaukee Bucks seemingly need a flow of some young blood in the squad. The franchise is at a crossroads as it faces the dual task of making strategic moves to remain competitive as well as keeping Giannis Antetokounmpo satisfied. To fill the stipulations that have come up with a potential solution. The Bucks have set their target on the Utah Jazz star Lauri Markkanen to replace veteran center Brook Lopez.

Bucks To Target Jazz's Lauri Markkanen

At 36, Lopez holds the stature of an icon within the franchise, but being in the twilight phase of his career, there are demands in place to bring in a replacement for him. Answering the call, the Bucks have apparently zeroed down on the 26-year-old forward Lauri Markkanen.

Standing at 7 feet tall, Markkanen offers versatility on the court. Having averaged 20 points last season, the forward covers the offense and comes in handy in defense too.

Fadeaway World’s Eddie Bitar recently highlighted Markkanen as a potential trade target for teams in need of a skilled big man. “Teams looking for a skilled, floor-spacing big who can drop 20 points a night will be all over Markkanen if Utah makes him available,” Bitar wrote.

“He could be the missing piece for a team like the Warriors or Heat. While a trade isn’t a lock, the writing is on the wall—Lauri Markkanen belongs on a team with real playoff aspirations, and if Utah can’t provide that, someone else will.”

Win-Win Deal for Both Jazz and Bucks

The inclusion of Markkanen and the trading of Lopez could prove to be a win-win situation for both parties. The Bucks would attain a younger individual, whereas the Jazz would have a veteran to guide and mentor its young batch in the form of Lopez.
