Chicago Sky GM updates on Angel Reese’s future amid uncertainty 'until I hear differently'

Chicago Sky GM Jeff Pagliocca has hinted at Angel Reese’s long-term future with the team amid all the recent controversy. The 23-year-old was suspended for a game following her critical comments about the team in public. However, Pagliocca has expressed some hope for Reese’s stay with the team. 

Chicago Sky GM’s major update on Angel Reese’s trade rumors

The WNBA’s regular season is moving towards its end which turns all the attention to the league's postseason, and hence, what does the future holds for Reese. Meanwhile, Pagliocca believes in Reese’s emerging talent and expressed the ongoing positive communication between them. As per Alexa Philippou of ESPN, Pagliocca said:
 

“Until I hear differently, that’s the direction that we’re going to move, is that she’s on the roster.”

Although it might seem that the front office doesn't want to be engaged in the Reese trade conversation and it remains to be seen if the American player requests one. The Sky forward previously expressed her disappointment in the team and the player’s performance. As per Julie Poe of the Chicago Tribune, she said: 

“I’m not settling for the same s*** we did this year.” She further said: “We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me.”

Reese also said that she is “willing and wanting to play with the best.“ Following her statement, the Sky forward became the centre of attention and criticism. The former LSU Tigers player was also ruled out of the Sky's crushing 91-86 season finale defeat to the New York Liberty. The team has concluded their campaign with a woeful 10-34 record following a four-game losing streak. Meanwhile, Reese was seen flaunting her luxurious lifestyle on a private jet hours after her team’s finale match.  

Reese has not played for her side since her suspension. Her half-game suspension came after she publicly apologized for her comments she made recently. According to the reports she might have already played her last match with the franchise and might request a trade during the offseason.
