Sunil Gavaskar heavily criticised Shivam Dube during IND vs PAK clash

India defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in Super 4 clash

Legendary India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was left fuming after Shivam Dube bowled a no-ball during the 11th over of Pakistan's innings. The latter, who has started to gain confidence in bowling in recent matches, bowled his quota of four overs and also picked up the important wickets of Sahibzada Farhan and Shivam Dube. However, Gavaskar remarked that there is no excuse that the 32-year-old can give for bowling a no-ball.

"Absolutely unbelievable! He is a professional cricketer! At this level, no! You cannot bowl a no-ball. I am sorry; it's my pet peeve. But you get all these coaches, and you still bowl a no-ball," Gavaskar said while commentating.

"I will keep on saying it. No excuse at this level, at any level! But at this level, no excuse. You bowl from behind, not getting anything extra by bowling close to the crease," he added.

Dube bowled an important spell

Meanwhile, Dube played a key role in restricting Pakistan to 171/5 in 20 overs. The Men in Green looked set to post a total close to 200 after they had scored 91 runs on the board in the first 10 overs. However, Suryakumar Yadav & Co. managed to put on the breaks and Dube was in-fact the pick of the bowlers, recording figures of 2/33 in 4 overs. Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav also chipped in with a wicket each.

Indian batters' dominant display

In reply, Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill provided the team with a fantastic start by forming a massive partnership of 105 runs. The two smacked the opposing bowlers all around the stadium and made the equation easy for the Men in Blue. Though both Abhishek and Gill had lost their wickets by the 13th over, the damage was already done. Tilak Varma's unbeatan cameo of 30 steered India to the 172-run target and they reached it with seven deliveries left to spare.
