Former India captain Virat Kohli ended his century drought during the Asia Cup Super 4s match against Afghanistan on Thursday, in an effort that took him over 1000 days. It was also the star India batters maiden T20I hundred, with Kohli smashing 122 runs off just 61 balls.

It was a much-needed effort from Kohli, with many calling for his place in the team to be given to more deserving players, but he has justified his place and is a sure-shot inclusion from India's squad for the T20 world cup in 2022. Kohli had a terrific run with the bat in the Asia Cup, scoring 276 runs in the tournament at an average of 92 including two half-centuries.

With a big gorilla off his back, Kohli now seems o be enjoying his cricket. He was in a joyous mood after the match during an interview with Rohit Sharma and BCCI TV and appreciated the applause from one and all. And to add to this mood, Kohli gifted his fans a rare look into his childhood after posting a picture on social media in which he can be seen enjoying his meal at a party.

Khao piyo aish karo mitro…Dil par kise da dukhayo na (Eat, drink and be merry but don’t break anyone’s heart)", the cricketer captioned the photo.

The 33-year-old received a lot of appreciation for his efforts from his fans as well as critics and former cricketers after his ceremonious return to form. Talking about the criticism over his long pending 71st century, he said earlier, "what surprised me was my 60s became failures; quite shocking for me, batting pretty well and contributing but doesn't seem to be enough."
