The Asia Cup 2022 qualifiers will get underway on August 20 (Saturday) with four teams battling it out for an elusive place in the final tournament.

The Asia Cup 2022 qualifiers will get underway on August 20 (Saturday) with four teams battling it out for an elusive place in the final tournament. Singapore (winner of Eastern region), Hong Kong (runner-up of Eastern region), UAE (winner of Western region) and Kuwait (runner-up of Eastern region) will compete across five days in a four-team competition.

 

The winner of the qualifying tournament will join India and Pakistan in Group A while Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

 

The main tournament will get underway on August 27 with the marquee final scheduled to be played on September 11. The Men in Blue are the defending champions as they defeated Bangladesh in the 2018 edition to claim their seventh Asia Cup crown.

 

The four teams in the qualifiers will face each other in a round-robin format and the team that tops the table after the completion of all matches will qualify for the main tournament.

 

All the qualifying matches will be played at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Muscat, Oman.
