Suryakumar Yadav's wizardry with the willow and Virat Kohli's sedate knock helped India steamroll minnows Hong Kong by 40 runs as they stormed into the Super Fours of the Asia Cup 2022 on Wednesday (August 31).

 

Suryakumar ran riots with scorching 68 off 26 which was well complemented by Kohli's 59 off 44 which propelled India to post a colossal target of 193.

While Virat scored his 31st T20I fifty, Yadav also was instrumental as he accelerated India's inning after a sluggish start.

 

In the final over of India's inning, Suryakumar belted 26 runs including four big sixes to take his side to an extravagant total. 


Surya's blitzkrieg left Kohli awestruck as he was witnessing the 31-year-old's magnificence standing on the non-striker's end.

 

After seeing his batting partner's outrageous effort, even Kohli couldn't hold back his reaction as he came up with a classy gesture for SKY (Suryakumar Yadav).

 

After the innings, Kohli could not stop himself from bowing to Suryakumar for his incredible batting display.

 

As soon as the video of that particular gesture from Kohli found its way to the internet, it began to go viral all over social media, like wildfire.

 

 

Meanwhile, Kohli was back at his best with a well-compiled half-century. The 33-year-old had started off slowly by taking the singles and eventually went on to make up for the slow strike rate. Kohli was the aggressor in the partnership with KL Rahul and reached his 31st half-century in the format. He remained unbeaten on 59 off 44 balls with three sixes and a four.

Meanwhile, India rested Hardik Pandya in the playing XI against Hong Kong.. A victory against Hong Kong will take India to four points and they will qualify from Group A as the top placed side. The Men in Blue defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in their opening encounter.
