Inzamam ul Haq makes big remark on

After almost thirty years, Pakistan welcomed the return of an ICC event, and it will host the 2025 Champions Trophy. The ICC event is being hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and is set to end on March 9. However, the first semi-final will not be held at PCB. If India advances to the top battle, the final will also be moved outside of Pakistan. If India qualifies, the semi-final and final would also take place in Dubai, where they are currently playing their matches.

Inzamam ul Haq on BCCI

Former Pakistani captain Inzamam ul Haq has called on the cricketing boards to band together against India in the face of the BCCI's dominance in international cricket.

"Keep aside the Champions Trophy. Top players participate in IPL but Indian players don't participate in other leagues. Other boards should stop sending their players to IPL. If you (BCCI) don't release your players for leagues, then other boards should take a stance," Inzamam said speaking on a Pakistani TV channel

While the BCCI forbids its players from participating in international competitions, players from all over the world (with the exception of Pakistan) travel to India for the IPL. To be able to play in foreign leagues, an Indian player must retire from Indian cricket, including the Indian Premier League. Until he retires, an Indian player is only permitted to play List A and county cricket in England. Participants in foreign leagues are not eligible to return to the BCCI events.

It is interesting to note that several foreign players have skipped international cricket matches in order to play in the IPL. Some of the international players even skipped their last series prior to the ICC event, which took place before the 2019 World Cup. The only IPL season in which Pakistani players participated was in 2008. Despite being included in the IPL 2009 auction, they were not sold. Azhar Mahmood, a former all-rounder for Pakistan, only participated in the IPL after obtaining British citizenship. He was a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings.
