BCCI announces updated squads for second round of Duleep Trophy 2024; Rinku Singh to play for this team, CSK pacer ruled out due to niggle

Sarfaraz Khan will stay with Team B for the second round of Duleep Trophy 2024 depsite being named in the squad for first Test against Bangladesh.

Rinku Singh will play for India B in the second round of Duleep Trophy.

Sarfaraz Khan will remain with Team B and not play in first Test against Bangladesh.

The men's selection committee on September 10 announced the changes for the second round of Duleep Trophy 2024. As senior players leave their respective squads for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh at home starting September 19, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced their replacements.
 

The most notable addition to the side is Rinku Singh. Rinku will play for India B under Abhimanyu Easwaran. Sarfaraz Khan who has been named in the Test squad will stay with India B and play in the second round. 
 

India A captain Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep have been replaced by Pratham Singh, Akshay Wadkar, Shaikh Rasheed, Shams Mulani and Aaqib Khan respectively. In Gill's absence, Mayank Agarwal has been named the captain of India A.
 

India B's Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant have been replaced by Suyash Prabhudessai. Himanshu Mantri has been added to the squad as well. 
 

There were no chances made in Team C. In Team D, all-rounder Axar Patel has been replaced by Nishant Sidhu. Meanwhile Vidwath Kaverappa who was a part of India A will replace Tushar Deshpande as he has been ruled out due to a niggle.
 

The second round of Duleep Trophy will begin on September 12 in Anantapur.
