During a Duleep Trophy match between the West and Central Zone on Friday, 16 September, ugly scenes erupted after medium pacer Chintan Gaja hit Venkatesh Iyer with the ball just below his neck. Iyer, who defended the earlier delivery back to the bowler, was caught off guard when Gaja threw the ball back in Iyer's direction. it back at him in frustration. The Central Zone batter went straight down on the ground, wincing in pain.

As the ambulance was called in the middle of the pitch, Iyer was able to get back on his feet and was taken for precautionary medical checks.

Many fans wanted the bowler to be suspended, but it looks like India all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer and the bowler have mended things up between themselves and chosen to move on from what could have been a big controversy in Indian domestic cricket.

Gaja, posted a photo once Iyer was able to come back from the hospital on the next day and captioned it 'All Love no hatred'.

Earlier, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter also thanked his fans for their support.

"Thanks to all my supporters and cricket lovers for showering your concerns. My physios and doctors are completely taking good care of me and I’m feeling alright! And it is very natural for such incidents to happen on the field," he said in an emotional post on Twitter.
