These shortcomings might prompt the Indian team's decision-makers to consider giving the talented youngster Dhruv Jurel an opportunity to showcase his skills at an international level in the upcoming 3rd Test match in Rajkot.
During India's practice session at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Tuesday, Dhruv Jurel's rigorous wicketkeeping drills caught everyone's attention, especially with captain Rohit Sharma observing his performance closely. Dhruv showcased his adeptness behind the stumps in the evening session, which was followed by an extensive batting practice, further displaying his skills.
In a chat with Yashasvi Jaiswal, the video of which was shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on X, Dhruv revealed that he will dedicate his maiden Test cap to his father.
"If I get the India cap, I would like to dedicate this to my father because he is my hero. Whenever I feel confused, I will talk to him. He guides me. He is my hero," Dhruv Jurel told the BCCI.

With 15 First-Class matches under his belt, Dhruv Jurel has already demonstrated his potential by amassing 790 runs at an impressive average of 46.47. The 23-year-old has shown promise with one century and five half-centuries to his name, indicating his readiness to take on the challenges of international cricket.
Dhruv also spoke about his initial reaction when he came to know about his selection in the Indian squad for the England Test series.
"To be honest, I was literally nervous as soon as I got to know that my name is in the Indian cricket team. So I was just worried about where to sit in the bus. I was worried that someone would come to the seat I was sitting and tell me 'this is my seat'. I was literally nervous. I just came up with this strategy that if the bus is leaving at 8, I will come into the bus at 7:59 and see everyone settled before taking the bus," he said.
The 3rd Test between India and England will begin on February 15.Β
