Star New Zealand batter Kane Williamson smashed his 33rd century in Test cricket in the second innings of the third Test match against England at the Seddon Park in Hamilton, on December 16 (Monday), continuing his scorching success in the red-ball format at home. As New Zealand looks to build on their enormous first-innings lead and prevent a whitewash after losing the first two games, Williamson reached the epic milestone with a six in just 137 balls. Earlier, England was knocked out for just 143 after the hosts scored 347.

Williamson has become the first player to score five consecutive hundreds on the same venue in the 147-year history of Test cricket. Williamson has scored 200 (Bangladesh, 2019), 4, 104 (England, 2019), 251 (West Indies, 2020), 43, and 133* (South Africa, 2024) in the last five Test matches played on the ground. In the first innings of this game, he scored 44 runs.

The former New Zealand captain is on the verge of being just the fourth player in history to average more than 100 at a ground (15 or more innings), having already achieved seven Tet hundreds at Hamilton. While Michael Clarke (Adelaide), Jayawardene (Galle), Mominul Haque (Chattogram), and Joe Root (Lord's) also have seven, the only people with more at a single stadium are Mahela Jayawardene (11, Colombo SSC), Don Bradman (9, MCG), Jacques Kallis (9, Cape Town), and Kumar Sangakkara (8, Colombo SSC).

Williamson is the first player to reach 20 Test hundreds in New Zealand. The only other players to score more than 10 tons for the Black Caps at home are John Wright (10), and Ross Taylor (12). Taylor (24) and Williamson are tied for the most 100-plus scores across all cricket formats.

The only players with more tons in a nation than Williamson are Mahela Jayawardene (23), Jacques Kallis (23), Ricky Ponting (23), Kumar Sangakkara (22), Sachin Tendulkar (22), Matthew Hayden (21), and Joe Root (21). David Warner concluded his career with 20 Test hundreds in Aysrrakua as well as well.

After Sachin Tendulkar (178) and Ricky Ponting (183), Williamson is the third-fastest player in history to reach 33 Test hundreds, having done it in 186 innings. Williamson has more centuries than any other player in history after playing 186 innings.
