Star batter Harry Brook has surpassed legendary cricketer Imran Khan for an epic milestone with an astonishing hundred in the first Test between the England cricket team and Pakistan side of the three-match series which is being played at the Multan Cricket Stadium. On, Wednesday, he smashed the sixth Test century of his career and it came in just 19 matches.
Harry Brook surpassed Imran Khan
The English batter now has more Test hundreds in Pakistan than the legendary captain Imran Khan itself. Brook has scored four Test tons on Pakistan soil with two of them coming in Multan and one each coming in Rawalpindi and Karachi. The previous three of them came on England's tour of Pakistan in the year 2022.
On the other hand, Imran Khan only has three International red-ball tons in Pakistan. One in Karachi, one in Lahore and one in Faisalabad. He also only had 6 tons in his entire Test career a milestone which Brook also equalled in the match.
Root and Brook's ton lead way for England
After Pakistan scored 556/10 with the help of centuries from Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood and Agha Salman, England needed some great knocks to stay in this match and avoid reeling behind after the first innings and this was ensured by their batters who did not allow Pakistan bowlers catch a breather.
They did lose their skipper Ollie Pope for a two-ball duck but then fifties from Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett and centuries from Joe Root and Harry Brook put the visitors in a strong position. At the time of writing England is batting at 471/3 and are only trailing by 85 runs.
