Red-hot Rohit Sharma-led India will take on Pat Cummins’ Australia in the World Cup 2023 final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The two giants of the game will lock horns in a World Cup final after a gap of 20 years.
So far, the weather forecast has looked promising. It is not expected to rain on November 19 and a full game is expected without any interruption from the rain gods.
However, if the unexpected happens, and no play is possible on November 19, a full game will be played on the reserve day. In case of an interruption like the World Cup 2019 semifinal between India and New Zealand, the game will resume on reserve day.

If the match ends in a tie, a Super Over will decide the winner. If the Super Over ends in a tie, the boundary count will not be used to declare winners. Both teams will play Super Overs until a team wins.
If the game ends with no result at the end of the reserve day, India and Australia will be declared joint winners. They will also share the prize money which is four million dollars.
So far, India and Australia have gone up against each other 13 times in ODI World Cups. India have managed to win five games.
Earlier in the tournament, India and Australia faced each other in their opening encounter. In the absence of Travis Head, Australia suffered a batting collapse and were bowled out for 199. Despite losing three wickets for just two runs, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul's 165-run partnership helped India win by six wickets.
India have had a good record against Australia at the venue. India lost the first match which was played in 1984. Two years later, India beat Australia by 52 runs. The last clash between the two sides at the venue took place in the World Cup 2011 quarterfinal.
The MS Dhoni-led side restricted Australia to 260/6 despite Ricky Ponting's century. In the run chase, half-centuries from Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh helped India win by five wickets. Only Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin are the two players from the current squad who were part of that team.
