The Indian captain, who is currently in action at the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, accomplished this impressive feat during the match against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19, Thursday.
Before the clash with Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma needed just 16 runs to reach the coveted 6,000-run mark in ODIs played in Asia. The Indian skipper seized the opportunity during the ongoing fixture, adding another remarkable achievement to his illustrious career.

At the top of the list for the most ODI runs amassed in Asia by Indian cricketers sits none other than India's batting legend, Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar's exceptional career saw him accumulate a staggering 12,067 ODI runs in Asia, setting a monumental benchmark.
Following Tendulkar, Virat Kohli occupies the second position on the list with a notable 7,784 runs, while the former India skipper MS Dhoni holds the third spot with 6,929 runs in ODIs played in Asia. Sourav Ganguly, another former Indian captain, is in fourth place with 6,302 runs to his name.
The fifth and sixth spots on the list are claimed by Mohammad Azharuddin and Rahul Dravid. Azharuddin accumulated 6,267 ODI runs in Asia, while Dravid accumulated an impressive tally of 6,127 ODI runs in the continent.
