Star Indian batter Virat Kohli had a brief exit from the pitch during the first innings of the riveting ODI World Cup match between India and Pakistan at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday, October 14.
The reason for his departure was a noticeable difference in his jersey compared to his teammates. While the rest of the squad sported jerseys with the tricolour stripes, symbolising India's official kit for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Kohli's had three white stripes.

Upon realising this oversight, Virat quickly changed into the correct team kit, adorned with the tricolour stripes on the shoulders, and rejoined the match without further ado. In the contest, India's skipper, Rohit Sharma, opted to bowl first after winning the toss against Pakistan.
Shubman Gill, having recovered from dengue fever which kept him out of India's first two matches, replaced Ishan Kishan in the starting XI. India approached the match with an unbeaten record, having previously triumphed over Afghanistan and the five-time champions, Australia to start their tournament in a positive manner.

Pakistan, maintaining their winning streak with victories over the Netherlands and Sri Lanka, kept an unchanged lineup.
The Indian bowlers, after an initial lull, showcased their prowess by dismissing their rivals for a mere 191 runs in 42.5 overs. Except for Shardul Thakur, every bowler clinched two wickets apiece.
Having won the toss, Rohit Sharma chose to bowl first, leading to a steady beginning for Pakistan. Openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq struck nine boundaries between them, though they couldn't manage a six. Captain Babar Azam joined the crease but could only muster a single boundary.
Shafique, the star of the previous match, was the first to be dismissed, falling prey to Mohammed Siraj's delivery in the eighth over. By the end of the 10th over, Pakistan's score stood at 49/1.
The Pakistani batters struggled against the Indian attack. Captain Babar emerged as the highest run-scorer, contributing 50 runs off 58 deliveries. Mohammad Rizwan added 49 runs, but Pakistan faced a dramatic batting collapse, losing eight wickets for just 36 runs. Their innings concluded at 191 in 43 overs, with not a single six being registered.
