Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan and legendary spinner Harbhajan Singh recently delighted fans with their dance moves to celebrate Afghanistan's impressive win over Sri Lanka in the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 in Pune on Monday. The thrilling match, where Afghanistan triumphed over Sri Lanka by 7 wickets, spurred an exhilarating celebration between the two cricketing icons.

Pathan shared a video of their dance on his Instagram account, lauding the Afghan team for their outstanding performance. "What a great win from Afghans. Many congratulations on your 3rd win. Beating 3 former world champions," Pathan's Instagram post highlighted his admiration for Afghanistan's remarkable achievement.

Following their victory, Afghanistan solidified their position in the World Cup 2023 points table, claiming the fifth spot and firmly positioning themselves in the semi-final race. Their triumphant streak has seen them defeat some big teams, including defending champions England, 1992 champions Pakistan, and now 1996 winners Sri Lanka.

Pathan expressed his views on social media platform 'X', emphasising Afghanistan's unwavering control throughout the game. The Afghan team confidently chased down 242 runs, securing victory with 7 wickets and 20 balls to spare against Sri Lanka in Pune.

"The chase from Afghanistan was so controlled that at every point of time they were in total control. Professional stuff. In the Indian conditions if you know how to play spin well and bowl spin well then you will be in the game. Afghans certainly have those qualities now," Pathan's 'X' post read.

This was not the first time that Pathan celebrated an Afghanistan win with a dance; he had previously joined Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan in a joyous dance following their win against Pakistan last week. Afghanistan's impressive 8-wicket victory against their neighbours at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai further solidified their standing in the tournament.

Looking ahead, Afghanistan's focus now shifts to their upcoming match against the Netherlands, scheduled to take place at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on November 3.
