Mehidy becomes second Bangladesh bowler to claim 100 WTC wickets.

Bangladesh spinner picks three wickets in the Day 4 morning session.

In a series of interesting events, Mehidy Hasan Miraz recorded a brilliant spell with the ball to put Bangladesh on the driving seat on Day 4 of the opening Test against Australia. The off-spinner caused plenty of trouble during the morning session at Darwin's Marrara Cricket Ground, securing three important wickets as the hosts slipped to 243/7 in their second innings by the lunch break.

Mehidy had already created an impact on Day 3 by dismissing Steve Smith with a return catch to claim his first wicket of Australia's second innings. The Bangladesh all-rounder carried that momentum into Sunday's play, August 16, getting rid of Alex Carey before adding Beau Webster and Pat Cummins to his list of victims.

Big feat for Mehidy Hassan Miraz

Mehidy found his wat to get rid off the Australia's middle and lower order during his impressive spell. Carey edged one through to wicketkeeper Litton Das, while Webster had his stumps disturbed by the Bangladeshi spinner. Cummins became his next target after Shadman Islam took the catch at short leg.

Cummins' wicket turned the spell into a remarkable occasion for Mehidy, as the dismissal on the final delivery of the 74th over brought up his 100th wicket in the World Test Championship. With the milestone, the Bangladesh all-rounder became the only second bowler from his country, following Taijul Islam, to reach the feat in the history of the competition.
