Sunil Gavaskar slammed India for arrogant batting in T20 World Cup clash against Pakistan.

India got bowled out for mere 119 runs, to record their lowest total against Pakistan in T20Is.

Legendary Sunil Gavaskar unleashed a scathing critique on India's dismal batting performance against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. Gavaskar slammed the Indian batsmen for being arrogant and reckless, accusing them of underestimating the Pakistani bowling attack on a tricky New York pitch. This disastrous showing resulted in India's lowest total ever against Pakistan in a T20 World Cup match, a paltry 119 runs all out in 19 overs.

"This is arrogance by Indian batting line up, this is no Ireland bowling they were facing, and by that I mean no disrespect to Ireland but they should have shown some respect facing a world class bowling when the ball is doing its bit'', Gavaskar told Star Sports.

India's Batting Crumbles Under Pressure

India's batting woes reached a new low in their T20 World Cup clash against Pakistan. This marked the first time India was bowled out in a T20 World Cup match against their arch-rivals. Pakistan's pace attack spearheaded the destruction. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf emerged as the bowling heroes, each claiming a well-deserved three-wicket haul. Mohammad Amir, known for his prowess against India, continued the trend by dismantling the middle order with the crucial wickets of Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja. Adding salt to the wound, India's struggles stemmed from a lack of adaptability. Despite witnessing challenging batting conditions in the first four matches played in New York, they failed to adjust their approach and aimed for an unrealistic total. This miscalculation ultimately resulted in their historic collapse.

India's batting lineup faltered against a potent Pakistan bowling attack in their crucial T20 World Cup match. Rishabh Pant, with a fighting 42, was the lone bright spot. Axar Patel, promoted to number four, chipped in with a valuable 20. However, the rest of the batting order crumbled, with no one else managing to score even 15 runs. This includes big names like captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Several batsmen, including Axar Patel, Suryakumar Yadav, and even Rohit Sharma, threw away their wickets after getting good starts, failing to adapt to the challenging conditions and capitalize on crucial moments. Pakistan's pace attack capitalized on these missteps. Haris Rauf and Mohammad Amir ripped through the Indian batting order, taking three wickets each. This performance not only restricted India to a paltry 119 runs, but also marked India's worst batting effort against Pakistan in T20Is since 2007 and their third-lowest total batting first in a T20 World Cup.

However, India staged a remarkable turnaround and clinched a thrilling six-run win over Pakistan riding on Jasprit Bumrah's back-breaking three-fer.
