Monank Patel-led United States cricket team will be going one-on-one against Paul Stirling's Ireland in match 30 of the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Florida, on June 14 (Friday). Pakistan cricket team will be having their eyes on this match as it will decide their fate in the mega tournament. However, rain threat is looming large over the big clash and that won't be the news the Men in Green would be hoping for.
Florida weather forecast
The Florida weather forecast does not have a good prediction for the Pakistan fans as it states that there will be heavy and persistent rain and it might play spoilsport. The flood alert only makes things worse for the match to proceed without any disruption. the precipitation chances go up to 80 percent which can be really bothering for the fans and Pakistan team.
Can Pakistan still qualify for Super 8 if rain causes a washout?
Earlier, the Scotland vs England and Sri Lanka vs Nepal games were abandoned due to rain as well. However, if a similar sight is witnessed during today's game and the match can't proceed and there's no result. Then both the USA and Ireland will have to share a point in case of a potential washout. However, this will straight away send the US to the Super 8 stage and end Pakistan's chances to reach the next round. As the USA already have four points, even a washout point will raise their tally to a total of five points and the Men in Green can only reach four points at best if everything goes their way, so they will be praying the rain gods to let the match proceed without any disruption.
