The England and Wales Cricket Board on September 14 (Wednesday) announced that former Australia cricketer Michael Hussey will be part of the Three Lions' coaching staff for the upcoming T20 World Cup as a 'consultant'. The Aussie legend will extend a helping hand to the support staff led by head coach Matthew Mott.
"England Men's white-ball Head Coach Matthew Mott has enlisted the support of former England bowling coach David Saker and Chennai Super Kings batting coach and former Australian international Michael Hussey for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia in October and November," the England and Wales Cricket Board said in a release.
"Saker, England Men's bowling coach from 2010 to 2015, will join the tourists in Pakistan for the seven-match tour preceding the World Cup.
"Hussey, 47, who had a stellar career as a middle-order batsman for Australia in all three formats, will join the England set-up for the World Cup," it said.
In the upcoming T20 World Cup, England will be gunning to win their second title in the shortest format of the game. Their first World Cup win came in 2010 when they defeated Australia in the final.
